Swedish Studio Dining Set — Sculptural Maple Table & Five Chairs, 1960s

A dining set with a real story behind it: this table and five chairs were custom-made by a Swedish craftsman for his own family's home in the 1960s, and we purchased the set locally, directly from his daughter.

The round table is a study in restraint — a bookmatched maple top with warm, honeyed grain, balanced on a tripod-style base of three tapered legs joined by a delicate stretcher. The joinery is quietly confident, the kind of detail that only shows up in furniture made by someone who knew exactly what they were doing and had no one to impress but their own family.

The five chairs echo that same sculptural sensibility — slim, gently curved spindle backs, sculpted arm rests, and long, tapered legs. Each seat has been thoughtfully restored with new vegan leather upholstery and fresh strapping, so the set is ready for everyday use while keeping its original silhouette intact.
