Danish Teak Vanity 0725026 - Vintage MC

MID-CENTURY FURNITURE

Refinishing Services

At Vintage MC, we don’t just sell furniture - we rescue design history.

While mass-produced, flat-packed furniture is built for the short term, mid-century modern furniture was built to last generations. However, even the finest Danish teak and American walnut can lose its luster after sixty years of family dinners, morning coffee, and daily life.

That’s where we come in. We take worn, tired, and faded mid-century treasures and beautifully restore them so they look practically brand new and are ready for another 60 years of life in your home.

"Our goal isn't to make these pieces look like replicas. It’s to honor the original designer’s vision, erase decades of wear and tear, and let the natural beauty of the wood speak for itself."

Meet the Master Craftsman

Every glowing grain of wood and silky-smooth finish you see on our showroom floor is the work of one man: Mindy’s husband, Jim.

While Mindy is tracking down authentic mid-century pieces locally and across Europe, Jim is the muscle and the magic in the workshop. With a deep respect for original manufacturing techniques, an obsessive eye for detail, and years of hands-on experience, Jim handles the preservation and restoration of our inventory.

We professionally refinish about 80% of what we buy. When you purchase a restored piece from Vintage MC, you aren't just buying furniture—you are investing in hours of dedicated, local craftsmanship.

OUR COMPREHENSIVE

Restoration Process

True restoration takes patience. Jim treats every piece of furniture with the individual care it deserves. Our process includes:

Inspection & Structural Repair: We tighten loose joints, repair vintage glides, replace missing veneer, and ensure the piece is structurally sound and functional for modern use.

Gentle Stripping & Sanding: We carefully remove old, failing lacquers and yellowed finishes without compromising the integrity of the underlying wood or thin vintage veneers.

Color Correction & Grain Matching: Mid-century furniture often utilizes beautiful, intricate wood grains like teak, walnut, rosewood, and oak. We carefully blend tones to highlight the wood's natural variation.

Premium Sealing & Finishing: We apply durable, high-quality finishes that protect the wood from future spills and UV damage while mimicking the rich, low-sheen satin glow characteristic of the era.
