Danish Modern Teak Extension Dining Table, attributed to Henning Kjærnulf for Vejle Stole- og Møbelfabrik
A substantial mid-century Danish dining table in rich, glowing teak, manufactured by Vejle Stole- og Møbelfabrik and originally sold through Wilh. Dahl & Søn of Svendborg, Denmark — both makers' stamps are present on the underside. The design is attributed to Henning Kjærnulf, whose work for Vejle is known for its clean, architectural lines and superb joinery.
The table features Vejle's signature draw-leaf mechanism: two 21.5" leaves tuck completely beneath the tabletop when not in use, so the table presents a clean, minimal profile at its 65" closed length, then draws out to a generous 108" fully extended — easily seating 8 to 10. Tapered, gently wedge-shaped solid teak legs and a floating stretcher rail complete the sculptural, unmistakably Danish silhouette.
We hand-selected this piece ourselves on our latest European sourcing trip, traveling through Denmark to find authentic mid-century pieces directly at the source. It's a true example of the Danish craftsmanship we search for on every trip.
Dimensions:
65" L (closed) / 108" L (fully extended) × 37.5" D × 29" H
Two 21.5" leaves, self-storing
Condition: Professionally refinished, excellent condition.
Provenance: Sourced in Denmark; manufacturer's stamp (Vejle Stole- og Møbelfabrik) and retailer's stamp (Wilh. Dahl & Søn, Svendborg) both present on underside.
