Vintage Founders Furniture Aluminum Lounge Chair

A sculptural lounge chair by Founders Furniture, sourced locally here in Frederick. Founders made their name in the 1960s and 70s with clean, architectural designs in cast and tubular aluminum, and this chair shows why. The brushed aluminum frame has a confident, cantilevered look, with angled tube joints and exposed slotted hardware that celebrate how it's built.

The burnt-orange terracotta suede-style upholstery glows against the cool metal. Button-tufted seat and back cushions are deep and generous, and the wrapped, padded arms sit at a comfortable height for a book or a cocktail. Low, wide, and substantial, it's as inviting as it is striking.

Pair it with walnut, teak, or travertine for a warm, layered mid-century look, or let it stand alone as a bold accent in a living room, den, or reading corner. It would look just as good in a pair.
