French Brass Double Inkwell, Rococo Revival
Gold doesn't fade — it deepens. This solid brass double inkwell desk stand has been sitting on French desks since the late 19th century, and it looks exactly like something that should never have left. A raised shell motif anchors the back, flanked by two domed hinged lids covered in engraved scrollwork and florals. The shaped tray — all C-scrolls and cartouche curves — sits on small bun feet and feels substantial in the hand. This is cast brass, not spelter, and the warm honey-gold patina proves it.
No pen tray, no letter rack — just the pure Rococo desk object, doing exactly what it was made to do.
