Danish Teak Room Divider with Sliding Desk

A sculptural mid-century room divider from the 1960s  that works as hard as it looks. Three open teak shelves rise above a low credenza on splayed, two-tone legs. The honey-toned frame contrasts beautifully with the rich, warm teak of the shelves and cabinet.

The hidden feature is the best part: the top of the credenza slides forward to reveal a pull-out desk surface. Tuck away a laptop, a stack of paperwork, or a sewing project, then slide it closed and the piece reads as a handsome sideboard.

Below, two sliding doors conceal generous storage, and a bank of four drawers with sculpted, inset pulls keeps smaller items organized. The back is finished, so it floats beautifully in the middle of a room. Use it to define a work zone, separate a dining area, or divide a bedroom and sitting space.
